Why do I need to hire a private investigator?

Hiring a professional is always a better decision than going it
alone.  A Washington licensed private investigator is bound by
strict ethical regulations, has access to better information, has
experience, and knows the law.   Conducting your own
surveillance may land you in jail for stalking.  Gaining access to
personal information without authorization may land you in jail for
Privacy Act and credit reporting violations.  By hiring a
professional, you can feel secure that your private matter will
handled confidentially, diligently, and accurately.
In addition to general
investigative services, our
areas of specialization include:

Criminal Defense
Personal Injury & Wrongful
Death Claims
Locating Missing Persons
Process Service
Asset Searches & Insurance
Verification
Tenant Screening
Custody and Visitation

What does a private investigator do?

We are normally employed by lawyers and individuals. We assist
in preparing plaintiff's civil claims, criminal defenses, locating
witnesses, serving legal documents, interviewing police and
prospective witnesses, and gathering and reviewing evidence.
We also may collect information on the parties to the litigation,
take photographs, testify in court, and assemble evidence and
reports for attorneys.
Dear Mr. Kindred:

Words cannot express how happy
we are that your were successful in
finding our granddaughter.  Since
we were over 3,000 miles away,
we were very concerned that
anyone we contacted to assist us in
our search would take advantage
of this distance and charge us an
exorbitant amount for their
services.  Your fees were very,
very, reasonable but more
importantly your services were not
only quite professional but also
very personal.  I would highly
recommend your agency to anyone
who requires investigative services
in your area.  Once again, thank
you and Alice for finding our
grandchild.

Sincerely,

Mary E. Booker, Maryland, USA

How much is a private investigator going to charge?

Private investigators charge an hourly rate for their services.  The rate can vary from $45/hour to $100+/hour.  It depends on
several factors including years of experience, location, and the amount of work involved.  Typically, the client pays a retainer
in advance from which an investigator will bill against periodically.  The client will also be responsible for paying for expenses
and mileage.  Simple assignments cost less than complicated assignments.  Be prepared to discuss your needs and your
budget when you call.
